Default sierra cosworth abs fail

Hi guys.
I own a 2wd sierra cosworth which iv had for abot two years now.
Anyway I breaked really hard the other day and my car made a strange noise from underneth the bonnet and since then my abs light has stayed on.
Now iv taken all the sensors out and cleaned them and cleaned all the connections too.
My breaks are fill but have no abs.
The fluid level is fine and iv bridged the the cap and thats the same.
Iv checked the fuses and looked at the relays under the dash too which look ok.

So share my plan now? Check resistance from sensors?
Im starting to think iv blown either the abs unit or the abs ecu??....
My pedal doesnt stuter at all and the light doesnt go out.

Any ideas or help wud be greatful. Thanx

Any ideas wot the noise could have been?
Could it hav been the abs unit giving up?
It was like a winding noise

Any ideas? Thank you

Does the ABS pump prime up when you put the ignition on, without starting the engine?

Hiya mate. Yeh it all primes up as it shud. I can hear the abs ecu clicking twice as it normally does too.
The first one my hand brake light goes off. As it always has dun....and second click the yellow light shud go but it doesnt.

Iv also tried taking the battery off and unplugging the abs . Running the car then plugging it back in.
How does the abs unit work? Is it like a solinoid piston breaking the pressure?

Ok so iv checked resistance from all the sensors now. From three I get 900 and the other I get 2400 lol so I need to get hold of a rear 2wd abs sensor ... I think.

Does anybody have or know where I can get a 2nd hand one from in the Birmingham areA?
Thanx

I had to replace a front sensor recently and got it from Speed Shack (www.speedshack.co.uk) - you will need to phone them but they are super quick to respond and will send pics if you want to see the item + if it doesn't work they offer full money back (minus P&P) but all was well with mine...usually around Ł25/Ł30 + P&P. If not Gary from RS Classics regularly breaks Cossies, not sure on price but very nice bloke however best to phone him...try his site via www.rsclassics360.co.uk/forum or check out his profile of PassionFord. Best of luck
