WINNER!!!
I've finally done it and won my first race in the northern saloons and sportscar championship..

My first race on saterday wasn't so good practise went ok on friday but in qualifying on saterday I had a missfire so I changed the plugs and it went, started 10th and finished 9th

came back into the paddock to then notice my alternator had failed..no choice but to charge the battery overnight and hope for the best..
Today came and just before we went out it started to rain and snow!!
got a cracking start from 10th to be 5th at the first corner, and then over the next few laps picked them off one by one till i was behind the leader just as I was planing my move he then spun into the gravel allowing me through!!!!

I couldn't see out of the screen and put the heated screen on only for the alternator warning light to shine like a brake light so that was swiftly switched back off!

I held on till what I thought was the last lap when to my suprise the marshalls started clapping so I slowed thinking the race was over, the evo in 2nd then flew past me and I then thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life and set off in pursuit only to be greeted with the chequered flag that lap!! I was fuming!!
got into parc ferme to find out they had forgot to wave the flag at me and had held it out for the evo,(he hadn't seen the flag as he was lapping a car at the time!)

I had actually won!!!!!!!

I then proceeded to jump up and down like a looney!!
The feeling is something else I never though I would ever et to win a race outright but I have and boy does it feel good!
Only bad point is I forgot to put a memory card in the in car camera!

Yes it is hard m8, matt lewis motorsport has been great and is the only company that supports me with my racing, and bailed me out this week with some parts that I ended up using on the car to win with today!

he was but I could see he wasn't going to get me as his best lap was his last and I had 3 seconds + on him before then

thats your old engine powering it m8!!

kens a good seasoned racer and certainly makes you work hard to get passed, just how racing should be clean and hard!

Chris was flying in race one, its a real credit to him considering, a great guy!

Our club just haven't updated the records even tho I put 1993cc on the entry forms!

very well done mate was a wekend of many up and down emotions , mainly up and a lot of hecticness lol

Roll on Croft , personaly i can only hope for better

 

It will come clive don't worry, my first race weekend ended like yours, but your in there on the right side of the fence and im sure you will enjoy croft
