Hi Peeps, Question... can you have your car moted at any point... got about 4 months left on my mot and wanna put a new 12 months on for selling it.

No reason why you can't it's just you're wasting money not getting the full 12 months out of the last one. But hey, good on you for being paranoid and wanting to ensure it's in one piece still

Hi, im an MOT tester, you can take your car for a mot at any time however unless its within the last month it wont carry on from the current mot. as above it is better to make sure you know if there is something wrong with the car,

i would also suggest that if you know a mechanic/tester that you can trust ask them to check over all the bits that a mot would cover basically like a "pre-mot check" (a garage may charge for this)if you just want to know if there is something wrong/dangerous with the car or if you want to show or prove to the customer(buyer of car) then an mot would show that.

Cars only done 300 miles since last mot, however I wanna put a 12 months on so the new buyer has peace of mind, thanks for the reply
