Well did something stupid this morning, was passing the beach (i live in blackpool) drove up on the promenade to get some pics of my car whilst it was quiet, Got a few pics and noticed the beach thought what a great idea seen the tide was out quite far so i drove down the ramp, got out at the bottom and walked 30yards to see if the sand was hard, which it was.

I drove on to get a few pics after 35yards i started sinking and before i knew the tide was extremly close.

After my mate trying to drag me out for 10 mins and the rope snapping 3 times, we managed to get a strap the tide was less than 6feet away and he yanked as hard as he could.

Thank god it started moving and we got it out.

The coastgaurd told me i had 1 minute to ge it out before he vacated us off the beach and he told me.

'' you'll have to come back for it once the tied has gone out ''

the car was sat on the subframe and was well and truly stuck!

lesson learned never drive on the beach!!!!

True, it'd have broken down before reaching the ramp or rusted away before the tide was within 100yds of it.

if i had my plate on, and if the tide was in, yehhhh not funny really is it.

i was stood about for 20 mins waiting for my mate to come down in his pick up, all i could do is sit and watch the tide come further in as i waited

this happens quite alot where i live, you get holidaymakers park on the beach and by the time they come back their car has been washed away,
last one i actually saw was a new vw transporter out at sea lol

 

I would have the wheels off, arch liners off and be cleaning off all the salty sand out of it. Checking the wings too.
