I fiited one to my saph cosworth on sunday, the one in it was black the new ford part i got was yellow. 3 sizes were listed for the sierra 45mm 50mm 55mm IIRC hence the different colours, i could only get the yellow one and it fitted like a dream so maybe its the same story with the xr3i
I had an RS turbo with a black ratchet quadrant that broke, and i bought a full second hand pedal box off a turbo that also had a black quadrant and they both worked bob on and didn't make the pedal too high or low.

the quadrant colours dont always match up if youve got a copy or one from another ford model.
Take out the old one and compare it directly to the new one. The diameter of the actual quadrant is usually the same, its the depth of the groove and how far the teeth go round that is important as it determines both how much clutch cable travel you have and how much adjustment there is for wear.
