hi there iv just got my rs turbo on the road i was out in it the other day an i put my foot down in 3rd gear an hit about 80 an the revs droped an i let go of the accelerator an put my foot down again an still in 3rd i now hit 90 and the revs droped again an then let go of the gas an put foot down ok again . can any one tell me wat this could be? thank u peeps.

 

sounds like an ignition related issue. are you certain the car is set up and fueling correctly?

 

Does it feel harsh when the
Revs drop? A weak pipe from metering unit to the turbo can collapse And cause the car to almost cut out

could be, what i thought coil or [poss plugsleads, that type of thing. what gpm suggested sounds more feasible though if its a common fault. could be worth investigating pipes/hoses for age/heat related deteriation. jano is the kiddy when it comes to setting the cvh turbo up going on what the clued up types on here reckon.

 

the revs just drop right to the bottom then i just take my foot off then put bk on its ok till i hit 90 its really buggin me this

 

wat pipes i need to look out for?

 

boost pipes/vaccum pipes ect

If it is the pipe collapsing its the big one that goes from the front inlet on the turbo into the metering unit

 

Could be overboosting and the chip cutting the spark?

 

Could b the knock sensor on the inlet

 

yes it was overboosting 20 psi lol an a air leak thanks to every one who tryed to help

 

so, it was overboosting as a result of the airleak. what amount of boost does the car run in healthy normal circumstances? glad its sorted bud

 

jano sorted it mate hes a really clued up man knows wat hes on about an he explains every think to ya about wat he is doing to ur car. the boost im running now is around 15psi
