Quick RWD Zetec water pump Q
I believe that an extra idler can be used to avoid the incorrect of rotation of the water pump on a blacktop zetec when the aircon and PAS has been removed but i want to keep it pretty minimal. So i plan on just putting the alternate water pump in instead...buuuut. Which one is needed? I have also read that the pump only needs changing when a silver top is used so i'm not sure what to believe?
Thanks in advance guys!

Anybody any idea? i have seen pictures of a blacktop zetec on the retro ford website where the cambelt only has one tensioner/idler and the water pump is right in the middle. Looks much better IMO and would love to know how they've managed it!
Just been all through this bollux myself so here goes.....There is only one type of Blacktop pump - the silver top has two types depending on the drive belt routing hence you can swop the 1.8 for the 2.0 type. The Silver top cambelt only has one idler / tensioner so allowing the pump impeller to sit directly over the hole in the block.... the Blacktop has two therefore the pump has to be offset to the right towards the exhaust. To obtain a short 1-2-3 point belt run requires a reverse pattern impeller to be fitted or get creative with various idlers!
