Smith and deakin-check spelling, but the fit in shit. Also need to get the hinges to fit.

Also the main Weight saving is replacing the rear glass

Thanks for the link. They don't list a tailgate for the mk4. Glass will be going too.

most companys will make them but not all have a mould for it and would want to bill you the cost of it on top. its not much more mind i checked for my car and it was Ł600 for carbon fibre one to be made and the cost of the mould.

Yeah Phil made my roof. Was really happy with the work he did. I've had a decent web search today and don't think there is much out there without spending 5-600 which is fair enough of carbon but after having a think, i think! I would sooner take a punt on one of the smith and deakin mk3 tailgates and spend some time fitting it.

i have a smith and deakin bootlid ( i have cut the inner frame for the way mine is secured) and phil is unsure if doing in carbon will be any lighter

i also have fibreglass spoiler, thats the main weight save on a s1

Gus, will your car be at classic ford show? Have you mounted yours with hinges?
Can you lose the hinges and pin it on instead. This method would suit my needs.

i will be at classic but if i go in the s1 or not will depend how testing goes

mine is fixed using dzus fastners (x6)
