Eeek! We got another Skyline owner on PassFord......
At the SW/Weston S-M PassionFord meeting last night we saw that a fairly well known RS Turbo owner had turned up in his recentely purchased Skyline (RWD).........nice car too
Dont want to name & shame
So will let him post up details/pics of his car......It's a quick(ish) one too
His RS Turbo is now for sale (Mag featured car)...........1 clue only:
"Tango"

Steve, I know nothing about Skylines
Only details I have are:
It is a silver one, RWD, 2.5 litre, single turbo, battery in the boot, very lightweight bonnet and boot lid.......um, I know that could apply to loads of them.....
I told him that he must PM you for advice.....
He's modding it already..........And thinking of getting an HKS Turbo
I know that you say that generally the HKS stuff is way overpriced......
I'm sure he will post up this evening when he sees this thread.....

Yeah creedy, he's picked himslef up a boost contorller, and has orders a 25/30 turbo IIRC
Looks like a pretty nice straight car, and he has driven it around for a couple of weeks now and not had any problems so far.
GTS is a lot more fun to drive than the GTR in my opinion, GTR i felt like as the driver i was an optional extra, where as GTS are fairly lairy really

Driver was an optional extra?
Sounds like all that Topgear type hype "they drive themselfs"
They are more RWD than any 4WD car and have no other handling extras that a GTST hasnt, so dont really get how you feel an "optional extra"
My mates got a 500bhp RWD R32 and even tho its got silky smooth power delivery, a drag spec rear diff and suspension (TopSecret japan built drag car), it still has horrendous traction, going nowhere till 3rd or usually 4th in the dry, and nowhere till 5th in the wet, even on a 3ish mile race round bristol ring road in the rain we got caned by std civic typeRs even tho we got twice the power just cause they had traction
I was sick of billy-no-traction in the Cossie, thats only reason i got rid.
Sounds like a good car, lightweight boot n bonets not a bad plan.
A 25/30 turbo seems a bit small to bother upgrading to tho
3037S is smallest I ever seen bothered with

I just didnt feel i was involved enough, but ive not driven a 500bhp one and can imagine they are very different animals.
Ive only driven light tuned GTR33 models, as that is what i was looking at buying, but i just found that they were very boring at the speeds i drive.
Basically i dont often go more than 30mph over the speed limit, due to needing my license as i do about 1000 miles a week visting clients and stuff, and at those speeds the GTR just took it too easily in its stride and i felt like i wasnt really needed.
Was fairly amusing on roundabouts, but that was about it.
So i bought a sensible car for work (prelude vtec) and built a mini trackday car instead ,cost me the same for the pair of them as the liner would have, and was a far better choice for me personally.
