Default 2 post ramp and tracking

Hi peeps I've recently put a 2 post ramp in my lockup and have some laser tracking gauges I presume I'll not be able to do the tracking when the cars up in the air but was thinking if I got 4 45 gallon drums and braced the top so it spreads the weight to the edges of the drums when the car goes down onto them do yous think this would work I had thought of making stands up but then this thought cropped up.

Theres little table type things for sale on eBay especially for using a 2 poster ramp and doing tracking but I was just thinking about the drums as they'd be a bit higher off the ground and not 600 odd quid like on eBay
