As above really???

Am i right in thinking its only the efi ones that use knock sensors as standard??

No, the last of the Escort RST had one on the end of the inlet manifold with the green plug.

Half the time your better taking the knock sensor off the manifold but keeping it plugged in and cable tied out the way as they pick up the rattley top ends on CVH's and retard the ignition for no reason...that's if the car isn't detting it's tits off to begin with

But yeah only late MFI RST's ran them, not the Fiesta EFI's.

Ive been wondering about this, my D plate doesnt have one but the loom does? If the loom has it surely the ECU thinks it should be there too so would i gain anything from fittin one?

blue red blue and blue red white ecus don't have det sensor capabilities and can be used on all erst models
blue red black and hearts and diamond ecu's have to have a det sensor connected else they suffer from pmt

not strictly true. mine is a late E plate and that came with an early ecu and no knock sensor.

Only if it's a knock sensor equiped ECU, if it's not then no problem.
