Default Who to build my new esc cos engine???

im going with the idea that im one piston down!

if this is the case... i need my bottom end rebuilt

whats the process? strip it or send it off to someone to rebuild?

i guess id be better off taking the head and block somewhere to have them both overhauled??? then fit the bastard back in myself

who are the guys to do this for me?

SCS?
Martin Hadland?
Karl Norris?

id like it done asap really

cheers all

surely you are going to check it over before condeming the engine to a full rebuild, when it might just be a fuel regulator gone down or a headgasket failure
as after all you said it did recover when it first dropped onto 2 (piston failure doesn't usually recover )

if you get it let me know..

Bulletproof doesnt exist in my view...

In my view.. its not the case IF it brakes down .. but rather WHEN it brakes down .. rather later then sooner..

but something we have to live with driving YB on high power

scs for me, harvy is away at the moment in usa, a good 400+ bhp engine will need the head porting as well and the price for scs to do the work is about Ł7000 but that is for the hole job, you just drop the car off and pick it up all sorted latter

Cost of a 400bhp engine depends on what your starting with. Just had mine done.
cost me Ł3300, but it was running that power before it melted a piston,

Not complaneing the engine had done 32,000 hard driven miles
Dave

PS A1 rally sport did the job

All 3 of those you suggested will do a great job. I would guess its a case of who can fit you in first Dave.

A1 rallysport built my engine, really good with the price too.

As for which gasket etc.......

i am in the process of fitting a new gasket on mine at the moment and i'm fitting a cometic metal one with arp studs i think.

these should be good for your 400bhp spec if you do go down that road.

Dave.

Just rear this Dave - harsh if it is the engine.

Personally, it'd be between Martin and Karl for an engine build for me, but I know they're both fairly busy.

What about Stu @ MSD for an engine build? one of his maps would fit straight on it then.

There's a couple of tuners that you can go to. Like Porkie said, call them and others that haven't been mentioned and find out who can fit you in.
Now that I'm thinking about it...I'm wondering if I should get Tiff to send me some of his crackers and make the tea...could this lead to a tuner's war? LOL...

All builders will have a written engine build spec and costings document of some form thats fully itemised i expect Dave as its a pretty standard procedure if staying under 400 bhp, just call/mail them all and get it E-Mailed across to you, then simply choose the one you fancy and above all trust..
