Spotted this on eBay, it was for sale on gumtree a few months ago, apart from the awful font that makes your vision go funny, the spec doesn't seem to match the photos. Opinions?

i emailed him about this car, this is the repsonse i got as i was interested until i got the email back
"I can only answer a few of these questions i'm afraid.. The 'Technical' specs you require i don't know,It was purchased originally as a B.B.R Stage 4 Running T4 (12 PSI Stage 1) (18 PSI Stage 2) @ 408 BHP On the ally block!
It now has a T3/5 Hybrid built by B.B.R they did the last conversion with the receipt for the work taking it to 480 BHP! The reason for the Hybrid Turbo was to bring down the Turbo Lag which it has done! The Boost Pressure is still at 12/18 but could be turned up if needed.
The Block is the 4x4 one and i think of the top of my head the number is 200, B.B.R have not given a Detailed spec sheet as my friend did not require it nor understand it..I have all the receipts here but they list work done/Parts supplied/ to carry out Conversion & total and thats the sum total of the Information i have.As for the Crank yes it has been ground and balanced along with New uprated rods and pistons,They carried out the needed changes and upgrades to the block and engine as my friends next conversion was taking it up to 700 B.H.P!"

The pics are a mix of old and new as it has them stupid plates on for some pics and legal plates on for others,I can't see anything there that says 480 bhp,280 I'd think with a t3,however it could be updated to t34 spec with the t3 housing,6 feedback too,I'd avoid.
looks well in the pics, shame the spec doesn't add up though.
it'll be a tuner pulling the wool over his eyes, if you don't know you won't question.
if it feels less laggy then that'll be right for a smaller turbo.
i wouldn't part with that much on it, if it went on rollers and made the claimed power i'd buy it, seems GVFM if it's all true (not likely on a t3, unless they're machined the turbo housings to look smaller lol!).

has had an upgrade with 4x4 Block Etc and the Engine is now ready for an upgrade to 700 B.H.P!
Ready for 700BHP?
You're getting a bargain really as the engine must be worth 40K on it's own

The guy says in his message posted above it made 408HP, which may well be true, WITH a T4, that he claims it used to have, so he needs to ammend his advert as there is a clear discrepancy with figures.
Also they are cast iron blocks, not alloy
, unless he has one of the reproduction 200 blocks which I doubt!
He clearly admits from his message he dosen't know to much mechanically, to be fair to the guy.
I find it strange he has grey injectors as well with a T3.
As for the 700HP his living in dream land, quite literally, even experienced tuners have not managed to extract that sort of power and you would need to put a hell of alot of expense into it doing so. (Excluding Rods which is a little different)

The point here is that by fitting a 200 block does in no way mean it can be "Upgraded" to 700HP as he puts it.
Never knew about the 80's alloy blocks, apart from being lighter what other advantage do they offer?

the biggest issue is not being able to name the spec, the thing with these cars/ engines is its quite a niche market and buyers spending that sort of money will want to know exact specs.
i mean, uprated rods & pistons? what does that mean? custom made CP pistons or standard mahle's? fardon rods or standard?
i suspect a tuner has cashed in and billed for "uprated" parts because the customer wont know the difference

I class 650HP as big power really and how many engines with this power can you name? Sure there most likely are 700HP YB's out there but those that are owner's have spent a fortune on them and the car itself to get there.
