hi all,
just wondering if a mk3 mondeo 2.0 duratec petrol engine is the same as a fiesta ST 2.0 duratec?

an if not does anyone know why not?
as my engine is dead an just thought i'd ask to see if i can widen my search as money aint exactly hanging out of my ass right now.

to fit to fiesta you would have to strip it bare and put on your exhaust, inlet, flywheel and clutch (mondeo is dual mass and mtx75 fiesta is ib5) also change thermostat housing to yours as mondeo is ecu controlled. you would have to also put on your oil cooler off the st as the mondeo doesnt have an oil cooler! other than that it should fit. Just put the mondeo engine in my Mk5 fiesta and swapped it to run ST parts.

 

thanks for your reply, i have full milltek exhaust an uprated inlet so would swap anyway an i know my clutch is good so that would swap too the other parts are straight forward too.

sorry to sound sceptical but is that 100% of what needs to be swapped? nothing like oil pumps or sumps? any sensors?

Think the sump and pick up pipe need swapping to. And the offside bearing carrier for driveshaft.

got it all in an running but didnt run right so got rid of it all.
an now have a knackered engined fiesta ST supercharged the only luck i have is bad luck
i'll have a nose at pic ups webshite now see if they got anything.

only thing with ej's is sometimes its been open to the elements for a while.

 

Hi fella,yeah that's the bummer with them but tbh if it's anything 1/2 tidy then they do put it away.I bought a 1.8 zetec off them for Ł100 and it was spot on,they left all the ancillaries on for that money as well!!!

With pic ups at least you get a 28day warranty and tbh their good at swapping duff parts back.

I've heard a rumour their ramping the steelworks up after Easter in the hotmill?might be worth looking at?
Pays about Ł3-350 a week coming home if your 4x4 with 18 days off every 8 weeks.

i've want to get into the steelworks for a while. applying with acorn but nothing..

i thought bridgend fords would have been a nightmare to get into but if its a possibility i would jump at the chance!

No worries mate,acorn are the biggest pile of steaming shit agency in the world.not sure if your dealing with mark Rudge but he's fucking useless,he told me he'd sent my cv over to the steelworks when a job popped up basically the same as the one id done in ford for 15years and I heard nothing,not even an acknowledgement.
They then offered my mate the exact same job.....TWICE!!!
when I phoned mark and asked what was going on he asked me for the millionth time what my name was then informed me he'd just checked my cv online and there was no conent in it.stupid prick had sent a blank cv over because he hadn't opened the attached file!!!

You could try RSD,they were superb with me,phone and ask for Dale, proper decent lad but they maybe a bit more workshop orientated,you maybe able to bluff it though with your mechanics qualifications but I'll make some enquiries when I get back in a fortnight mate.

Fords are a total nightmare to get into,you have zero chance unless you know someone high up,I handed applications in years ago for Dai burns(remember him???) and never heard back.
When I went on the union years later I found a box full of applications thrown in a bin in the old union office,I never checked if burnsys was in it!!!

I'm good friends with a bird and her husband who work there,she's pretty high up,I get on well with both of them tbh mate.

Acorn were dreadful for me and quite a few others but they've got a lot of pull in the steelworks so I wouldn't burn your bridges like I did but don't hold out much hope.

It helps to get it pushed from the inside there as well.

Surely you must know someone being a port Talbot boy???
Fair play to RSD as well my mates been there over a year now and got his contract renewed straight away and put on a better shift pattern.

That vector took a lot of boys from ford on last year and it's good money there,they do oil and gas stuff so always pretty busy.

My mates a spark there,I could find out if there's much going,you never know.
