Hey, i'm not far off needing to go and buy some paint!
Question is, what will I need to paint a mk3 escort that's all pretty much back to bare metal? From start too finish.

And what type of paint, I know you get water based but don't know what type I'll need as this is my first ever attempt at bodywork.

bare metal needs to be pre wiped then etch primerd, after this you need to applie a 2K primer once you have block sanded the 2k primer your ready for base coat or 2k soild, you need to pre wipe the car again, an mask the car up ready for paint, tag rag an applie some base coat dont use water base, you need to have dryers for waterbase, tag rag between coats, once the base coat is all applied tag rag agin an applied your clear coat

They do kits on eBay that has everything you need apart from the etch primer.
I'll get a link for it, could you see if it's any good?
