Default Wanted - Series 2 pedal box

I have been told I need a new pedal box and shaft for my pedal as some cowboy has hacked it to death trying to fit the wrong ratchet and clutch cable.

Is this true and if it is then does anybody have one?

The car does not select gear smoothly and crunches into reverse. also does not select 1st gear at all sometimes.

any fedback would be great help, thanks.

if you need the pedalbox it is quite a baulky item to remove..dash out job i think
crunching into reverse could be worn clutch/cable or knackered box

Take it to another garage for a second opinion - sounds to me like they want to rip you off. It may be a broken quadrant. One option is a Mk5 adjustable pedal, which can be modded to fit easily. Then you'll never have a broken quadrant again.

It's just the pedal you need to fit - details at the AP website.

The gearbox is fine, got it from DazC. The clutch cable is brand new and so is the clutch pedal ratchet as they were just fixed last week when I got the gearbox fitted.
It is jy=ust that the shaft and bushes have been abused. The Mk5 pedal seems a good idea I will look into that. Thanks folks!
