Hi guys is there anyway of removing the sunroof tray without destroying the roof skin

im in same situation mate ive got sunroof out and lining off but dont no were to drill to get inner off

Rear is bonded on and two metal strips at back ,then you have some spot welds around the sunroof shut ,three down each side and five at the front ,ps i have a very good sunroof tray for sale btw

My tray looks fine but roof has bubbled on top so wanted see how bad before going carbon roof! Cheers mate I have a look

bitch of a job mate!! 30 odd spot welds on my s1. and the bonding is tough as old boots.

lots of patience needed dude. i put mine back in but ripping out again and slapping a carbon skin on.

Yea I fancy one but if ok underneath I spend money else where for now and stu Collins seems to be eager to cut it off. So worry once done other bits I guess

Easy job did mine last week (series 2) grind spots off with a small disk and warm glue/bond up with a heat gun then it comes off pretty easily. I'm no bodywork specialist but found it streight forward enough. Got mine off twins too and was a really mint panel.

Yea I will have a look my brother has just turned up and give me some spot weld drill bits so see if there anygood
