Default i need a backbox

my mk4 is too loud for me now ive grown up a bit lol.
its got a magnex system which is aprox 64mm internal bore or about 2 1/2"
ive removed the back box and i wanted to fit a standard style back box so does anyone know the bore of the standard mk4 turbo exhaust and does anyone know of a backbox i can buy one?
do you recon this will shut it up a bit more?

I know 1 of the european members on here shown a picture of his system with a box added at the side of the fuel tank. IIRC he was from finland.

could be an idea, theres not alot of room for a silencer box under mk4's so it wouldnt be a big one!

Can you not use a 3i system then? they are 2" bore...? Or would that be restrictive?

3i's had a silencer next to the fuel tank and one just past the sump. So maybe get 1 put in... Either that or a custom system?

well i could except my 4-2-1 manifold is 2.5" bore so would need more work.
im thinking about a standard 3i rear box with reducer fitted to my 2.5" system. cant be louder than what it is now can it! lol

Surely you are losing power by having the bore 2.5" too?

lol ture, but when i start it up in my garage it shakes the neighbours windows and they not impressed.
about it loosing power, you'd think so but to be honest its quite quick, maybe a touch down on torque but good bhp.
i just got a xr3i patern back box new which i am gonna try adapt on to see if that reduces it enough

got it sorted now, i fitted a 1.6 std back box onto my system with baffle tube fitted inside too and its now loads quieter on idle and slow driving but sounds like a loud motorbike on full throttle, possibly even louder crack to it now but it does sound good actually
