Default 2003 Focus Tdci ghia heater problems

Hi folks,
Can anyone help? My 2003 focus 1.8tdci ghia has an intermittent problem with the heater. At the start of each journey the temp setting works normally. After a few miles though it kicks out full heat. Stopping the engine for a few seconds then starting again usually fixes the problem for a few more miles.

Turning the climate control off and on again won't work, it has to be the ignition. Turning the engine off and on again even for a few seconds fixes it each time.

Any ideas?

I think it will be the resistor thats behind the glovebox, you pull glovebox out the way and you can see the fan motor housing and its on righthand side, think it will be this part

Question is why is it playing up, have you had a new screen or the pollen filter changed? They let water in and get onto the fan motor and relay and cause problems, fan motor is about £30-40.

Hope that helps

it wont be resistor as thats just for fan speed.

chances are your digital climate (is it digital?) facia has had it, plug a descent diagnostic software in to be 100% but ive done a few of them.
