Focus RS Gearbox into mk3 Fiesta ZT...

Default Focus RS Gearbox into mk3 Fiesta ZT...

Hi guys I'm sure this question has probably been answered before on the forum but I've been using the search function for the last hour and can't find nothing to help me

What does it entail fitting the mtx box from the mk1 focus to my mk3 fez zt? Is it a difficult/expensive conversion and is it worth doing? Should just just wait for a cts box to come up? I'm aiming for around 300bhp.

i have one in my fez...
you will need some custom mounts for the box, hydraulic clutch , cut the inner wing a bit and some shafts .

can you weld?

The torque from a zetec turbo kill even cts boxes when driven in anger

I've heard using a frs box is harder than a nomal mtx

I heard it's the speedo drive being digital and it has a rear starter motor.
also has cable shift
I know someone that had the internals from a frs box put in a mtx so he could use selector, speedo cable and front starter

Ring OddKidd mate because he sells the shafts and mount kits

Crazycage I have mates that can weld. Is it hard to convert to hydraulic clutch? I'm pretty useless at this kinda thing but I'm learning as I go along, my mate is a good mechanic and he's basically building my car whilst teaching me.

why would anyone choose the rs2000 box with its crapy rod shift and crapy cable clutch ?

anyone that cant run a wire to the rear starter motor shouldnt be thinking of doing the conversion.

Its a fairly easy to install, I have one in mine and have fitted it with out chopping any of the innerwing
