The golf me and the missus have got is a bit small for us really, so we've got 2k we can buy a car with.
Needs a fair size boot and easy on the insurance.
It'll most likely be a late mk1 focus or an early mk2.
any suggestions?

Is MPG important?? If not then how about a 'deo V6?? ...ST24/ST200/MK3 ZS, would all fit the bill.
Or if you're not fussed about staying with a Ford, then you'd get a cracking Passat Estate for ~2k these days.
Cheers,
Grant

2 that i have owned and loved, 306 hdi, love the looks and the way it drove, disliked how the rear calipers got stuck on everytime the day ended with a y.
Civic VTi mb6, underrated, comfy, practical, well built, pretty quick, but a tad thirsty.
TBH both of those can be had for half your budget though, i just noticed.
