that photos look staged to me and i would not belive that car has been there for any number of time and the ad seems suspect why not just carfully clean up the numbers.
people cant be that botherd though as they are still bidding ive seen just a log book and vin sell for over 400 pounds once on ebay and it is obvious what the buyer was going to do with it.

agree them photos look staged defiantly odd and too clean to have been stood any a long period of time, also how would you even get straw in the engine bay like that :S

Just came on here to see if it'd made it on the forum yet.. How false does that look? Mint looking car, random straw placed on it (nice new fresh stuff too) no ID, can't make out the chassis number.. FFS. If this is as suspect as it looks I hope he gets what he deserves.

I guess the 'enthusiast' owner will probably see it on here and pull the advert. You've got to wonder at the people that knowingly buy stuff like this!

I see he sold a boxster for Ł3k too. Love to have seen the ad for that.

A random scattering of fresh hay hardly constitutes a barn find, complete bullshit.

the thing is its lillegal to sell vehicles on ebay without identification numbers etc, and unless you are the police they will leave the advert live, the owner of the car needs to get police involved asap before the car gets dumped

i imagine his train of thought was something like "hmm, how to make it look like a barn find? YES, lets pop the bonnet and boot, and throw hay over it" fucking mong, i would put a solid Ł100 on that being stolen :/

Far too clean and staged looking. Hopefully the rightful owner will get their car back and the police will look into all of the other cars the seller has dealt in.

When was it originally stolen?

Still for sale on eBay so can't be that much of a confermation on the other forum then. If he's that sure of it being a barn find he surley wouldn't be letting the police see it that's if they even are involved at all. Looks identical to the onion the pic on the other forum must be said though.

Car parts everywhere, bits of engine loom and cable ties everywhere, rattle can test marks on the wall, and a roller shutter door?!

Clearly not even a barn, just a garage with straw thrown about.

On 01-Mar-12 at 22:21:21 GMT, seller added the following information:
IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT NUMEROUS THREADS ARE CIRCULATING THE INTERNET STATING THIS CAR MAY HAVE BEEN STOLEN, I HAVE CONTACTED DERBYSHIRE POLICE REGARDING ABUSIVE MESSAGES AND THREADS THAT I HAVE WHITNESED, DERBYSHIRE POLICE ARE COMING TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE CAR TOMORROW, I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY THE POLICE TO KEEP THIS LISTING LIVE.
Looks like some dickheads have tried to act the hero and gone and fucked it up. If this is the stolen one then i suspect that it will disappear forever now. If the seller is thick enough to try and blag a barn find with some fresh hay and sell it on ebay then id out money on the fact he hasnt rang the police, probably a tactic to throw people off.

there was an earlier listing from Chesterfield for a similar sounding car, also with feeback about buying selling mk1 bits

Definatley suspect! 2 mark 1 RS2000's in orange with no log books stated as barn finds both in chesterfield!

The car in the original link is missing the front bumper, sticker out side window and ones in front window but they are easily removed!
