Default Not right at high revs

Hi,

Got a problem with my 2wd Saff Cos, when accelerating hard past about 5.5k revs the car seems to hesitate and not want to pull cleanly. I'm told it also kicks out some big flames whilst doing this & my tailpipe is really thick with soot. I'm running it on Optimax which seems to help a bit rather than normal Super unleaded but am concerned that it may be dong some damage.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what could be causing it? Poor map? Failed sensor? Plugs or leads? etc.

The engine is stage 1 tuned with an Ahmed Bayjoo chip, filter & exhaust. I'm not 100% sure either what actuator the car is running as the sticker has been rubbed off, what is the easiest way to find out?

Cheers,

Gareth
