Default anyone made there own pressure washer?

as title really

im getting very annoyed with these jet washs where the reels is coiled up and it just isnt long enough, so ive been looking into making my own, plus it will come in handy cleaning the drive and the decking in the garden

so far i can get a pump and an electric motor, hoses etc arnt a problem, but what im struggling is a control unit

i dont want the motor on all the time, so i need a control box so it turns it on when the trigger is pressed but carnt find anything on the net of what i need or how it would be wired up

i was thinking of just using a scrap jet wash circuits to power the motor but unsure if they have a transformer that takes teh voltage down where i need constant 240v supply

any ideas?

what i want to make is something like this

A simple pressure switch and relay will do the job.
Pressure switch should be set just above the working pressure

Could you not just buy a long length of hose from a hose supplier and replace the coily hose on the existing jet washer?

Most jetwash's are 1500 psi but there are 3000psi ones knocking about you should have a data plate on the pump?
Have you got the pump or motor?
or just batting idea's around?

I use this type of pumps at work really simple things really you would be best of with a petrol powered one for home use as a commercial pump with elecly motor runs on 440volts and that's a 3.5hp motor or just by a decent lecky one if you have any probs pm me you address and I'll send you a parts catolog so you can build your own
