Police camera action, bloke is a grey 4x4 saph threatening to torch himself and his girlfriend and going the wrong way round a roundabout?

Im sure i remember seing a white 3 door on another episode of police camera action.
Also on road wars they were chasing a mk4 white escort and they got to the point where the road was blocked by a bus , The escort then squeezed down the footpath, the police car couldnt fit though and he got away i think.

 

Seeen that a couple of times on tele, was it mercury grey or crystal blue? Put up a good chase from memory. Did it have the s1 RS turbo on it as well making some kind of dubious ovdertaking manouvere? And an nicked XR2 the makes a dramatic exit from a roundabout? I remember watching it with me old fella and him commenting it must be the 'fast ford edition police camera action'

The saph looked real was just missing the boot spoiler, had a 4x4 bonnet which helped make it stand out more as a cossie from the air.

The white XR2 IIRC was from round teeside way, it took chase off the A19 onto the A66 and then onto teeside uni, where it never made the round about, went straight over and the 2 lads legged it up the hill to the left.

I remember that too,video was pretty good quality aswell,felt sorry for the owner with that tool ragging it.There was also a story on either Midlands Today or Centrel News about a gang from Birmingham who stole high performance cars and ragged them in thier area while they filmed it.Remember the news showing a saph and a TVR being abused in residental area,the gang all went prison.

 

Just had another flashback. 3door or may have been an RS500. The owner jumped on and grabbed hold of the spoiler. No video as far as I know, but was it not featured or the owner was with his new car? Mallard green sierra I think.

Im sure the white 3 door was owned by a guy on canvey island essex , 2 ariels on the back and i know it was parked up on his drive as he got banned for speeding , i made a offer on the car but he refused, 2 years later he sold it to a guy i know and its not turned a wheel in 5 years now

 

i wonder if that was the same gang that stole 3 new evos from my home town, thay sprayed them with spray cans and raced them in birmingham

and yes thay were brand new cars without plates on this was around 10 years ago
