Default f***ing immigrants!

cars been hit tonight by an uninsured, unlicensed lithuanian

car was parked up in an alley behind the gf's house, this idiot has came down for some reason and hit my parked car, the gf's dad saw it happen and we managed to grab the immigrant.

hes been arrested for dui and everything else, which leaves me with a damaged car..
only just got it on the road after 12 months aswell, gaz88`s old grey focus.

iv had a look at the car in torchlight and without taking the bumper off.. looks like it just needs paint to bumper and quarter..

where do i stand with this now??

pc who came to the scene reckons there a fund to cover this kind of thing and shouldnt affect my insurance? iv got 5 years ncb with no protection and dont want to lose this, nor pay my excess!

any help?

youll have increased premiums no matter what as youll have to inform your insurers of the accident, and in thier bullshit actuary books they somehow have data to prove a non-fault accident makes you a higher risk.

No need to inform your insurance,

exactly the same thing happened to my girfriends sister, there is a government fund/pot for this exact type of situation. Give my friend a call Mr Mark Lampkin http://www.lampkins.co.uk/and he will be able to explain exactly where you stand, say I passed them onto you. He is a good friend of mine and the family who has helped god know how many people out over the years as he is an RTA specialist.

Your insurance will not be affected either unless you go through them.

Hope this helps mate, if your unsure about anything you can give me a call anytime.

Gutter mate, hope you sort it. The other year we witnessed the misses mate have a crash, guy just turn right on her when she was coming the other way!

Sly bastard first tried to blame her saying he had right of way over on coming traffic and looked genuinely confussed. Then when he realised he was 100% at fault, he started claiming he needed to move his car (already pulled up in the corner of a petrol station - no need to move it).

When I called the old bill and started reading his registration out he looked proper pissed off, slams his door and then did his upmost not to give out his details.

Her insurance said to just get the reg and we finally got his name by making him spelt out and not quickly mumble it several times, and all got sorted. We took a picture of the shit as well incase he claimed it wasnt him driving.

Fortunatley for her, he did have cover, but had we not been there he would have been off like a shot.

raj unfortunately you are obliged to inform your insurance company of any accident claimed or not.... its all in the policy T&C's and chances are if your making a claim against the MIB, then it will be recorded somewhere your insurer can check.

Hello Warren,

not too sure about the ins and outs but I was told to refer all communications to my solicitor, they do find out about it I think but they do not act upon it as I have sorted my own legal services. Its a total minefield which I was glad to leave all the legal stuff to Mark Lampkin, much easier.

My girfriends sister got some money back which paid for the repairs to the car, she would of been snookered without that as she doesnt earn much money and works in chester which is a half hour drive away.
