just been watching a new episode of highway patrol, one of the drivers stopped was a driver who went through a red traffic light, when pulled over the driver protested it was amber, but the police officer gave her a ticket any for $299 in english money thats £158, no idea what we get fined here for doing the same thing
but i have noticed on all these reality police shows from down under that the fines seem to be a lot higher than here

In the isle of man in some areas you can go as fast as you want provided you do it safely... so in the 30 zones they tend to be a bit hard on you in 2001 one of my colleges got caught at 36 in a 30 zone near a school £480 ..... And the year before someone got deported I thing back to the UK for 40 in a 30 zone near a school.....
The good side is 150mph pillion ride across to mountain section of the TT course, the police car didn't move from the lay by!
