I pay 7 quid a week from council to rent a garage that the cosys in and 15 quid private for one that my 72 campers in. Depends on size really the camper one is a big garage. People charge what they want I've seen some for 30 per week

When I had mine off the council it was £9.50pw, apparently if I had been a tennant rather than an owner it would have been £7.50pw

End of the day it's supply and demand. If there aren't many garages around for rent it pushes the price up and how big/secure is it?

I pay £90 a month for a single garage.

It was brand new when I got it and is very secure.

I also have a council one £20 per month.

our village has a concil area with garages and they were £15 per week

but most are empty as everyone roung here has a drive at the least and i doubt theres 10% that dont have a garage

i was going to bid em a fiver a week lol, never did tho

i'd just chuck the shit that litters my garden like mixer, and stuff, i would be wary of putting a car in, garages are far too easy to get into and once you are in you can do what you like to the contents, could spend an hour getting a car going if the door was shut and nobody was noisey

depends where and what size. we pay £60 a week for a 3 car garage in edinburgh city centre which considering parking in an ncp car park is £12.50 a day isnt bad at all.
if its a little garage where you can only get out your car through the window in a quiet /rough area then id be wanting it cheaper than £15 a week.

That's great guys, what's happened is, I've had a garage for free that's over the road from my house for the last 2 months or so. But now the pub that owns it is struggling a bit for patrons, so need to scrounge as much money as possible. So they said £15 a week and its roughly a car and a half width size wise. Security wise, its fitted with a decent alarm, decent locks, neighbourhood watch constantly with paranoid neighbours and there's always a car parked outside it; when I use the Focus there's always room to take it out during the day. Thanks for the info guys, here's the garage....

A mate pays £200 a month in Glasgow for a double garage with free leccy. Single road in and has a big gate at the entrance. Mostly used by business so doesn't get any bother. Seems a alright rate for the area.

The point is, to keep it safe from thieving bas*ards so I can continue to show it

As for the garage, it does have 2 sockets and lighting, so the electricity is included in the £15.00 a week, plus the added bonus that the back door leads to the beer garden of the pub I have sorted out with the owners to keep it £60.00 a month.

This is how it looks....

Oh yes of course, am I distracting from the hundreds of other members that show off their garages and its contents that are worth much more than my car?

At the end of the day, you can't limit the advertisement of your car. If someone wants to nick something, they'll do everything possible to get it. Look how high profile and "safe" B5 Jam was...

I have two lock up garages off the local council and they cost me around a £100 per month in total - no leccy and just big enough to get a car in each its fairly secure being right next to the police station too so added bonus there.

But i need a third one now too and i aint paying another 50 quid a month for one. If i was a council tenant it would be less than half what i currently pay

So need to find a unit as it will work out cheaper.

That looks like £15 worth of garage to me.

I wonder, if you could build a 2/3 level lock up complex, I wonder what the demand would be.

Thats actually quite tidy, is it storage only or are you allowed to change (like adding a power supply so you can use tools and stuff)?

I wasn't being funny mate, don't get me wrong. I was stating a fact. You are saying there are potentially thieving b****rds who would want to steal your car.. I agree, there probably is someone with a MK1 Focus who would rather steal your motor than an Escort Cossie.

And yes, people put pictures of their garage doors open, with tools etc.. all tempting stuff to a thief..

But the fact that you have put a pic of the street your car is in, in a quiet looking town, near the back of a pub, with a garage with a side door, and an estate agent "to let" sign showing the name and phone number of where they are based, it wouldn't be very hard to find your garage would it?

At the end of the day, it makes no difference to me if your car got nicked or not, I was trying to offer some friendly advice. Don't be so quick to jump on people in future. Not everyone is having a dig.

We've got a brick built pitched roof detached garage in the garden, which was purposely built oversized by the previous owner of the house. S1 looks lost in there, despite being technically a single garage but can open both the S1 doors in there and have loads of room left at the front and the back of the car as well. Got a shed at one end in addition to where the car is which is walled off from the main garage, electric up and over door with remote, electrics throughout.
