ive got doors and boot in kevlar, bonnet in kevlar i have is no good as it melts with the heat so a carbon bonnet is a must, but im looking for bumpers, wings and rear 1/4 panels with full outer sill
ide like to do the full car in carbon but the cost would be massive

 

You could try carbon delight in Essex ?
They have made a few things for my rs200 in the past ! There work is quality !

its not melting because of the kevlar.

Its melting because of the resin system being used to hold the laminate together.

A carbon one would be no better if it used the same resin.

You need a decent high temp resin system or pre-preg designed for high temp usage.

iirc phil does clav some objects but wether he can do a bonnet i dont know wenny but you need a prepreg one really or heat protect the bonnet from as much temp as you can

 

not sure how mine is made but its bare no heat protection at all only paint
was one of performance trims ones if anyone knows how he made em

ive got a guy near me who will make anything if we get 10 orders or find molds, wonder whar performance trim did with his molds

he makes alot of focus and esc cos wrc stuff

 

performance trims molds are no doubt locked away until they find another way to trade !

ive made a bonnets that havnt melted and a few that have suffered but runing a composit bonnet you do need to heat manage well wenny

 

thinking about it my turbo is about as far from the bonnet as it gets

 

performance trim used a mix of wetlay and resin infusion depending on the part.
