Default flywheel skim????

quick one peeps, the flywheel on my yb has slight blue marks on it, is it worth getting skimmed b4 re fittin with its new clutch?? someone said no real point as the heat marks go thru the flywheel so will always be there??? skimmin obviously gives less friction pressure so dont wana skim if not actually neccessary? thanks

100%
and ALWAYS fit new spigot bearing!

when you skim the flywheel the only measurement you loose is a bigger gap from release bearing to pressure plate gap.

YB flywheels are skimmed flat so bolting and mating surfaces are equaly flat

Get flywheel surface ground, skimming it will not work.

if you do get it ground, use a reputable company.

i had 3 bad experiences from 3 seperate well known companies up north

on every occasion when ground they "melted" and made the flywheel lumpy like a slick gets rubber knobbly bits on them.
I was deeply un impressed and they had to be binned.
A mate skimmed one for nowt and it was perfect.

doesnt mean to say my bad experiences will be like yours though
