Just had my car re painted and need to get some rivets to put the side skirts back what ones do people use as the the ones that came off had a plastic coating on them but seem to find any with this coating?

Exactly as said above, I got them from Ford but expensive, they have a black plastic head, where as my originals were painted.

You could get the rivets elsewhere MUCH cheaper, just get ones with the same size heads.

You can still get coloured plastic coated rivits in selected colours from Ford. I've enough moonstone ones in the loft to do a couple of cars lol

I used 5 mm black plastic Scrivets with the centre screws replaced with 3 mm stainless self tappers. These are easy to remove if you need to and unlike aluminium pop rivets, will not cause dissimilar metal corrosion between the aluminium and steel. I used them on the fitting strips as well as the skirts themselves. They are also dirt cheap.

The Scrivets look like this

Thats what i did. TBO, with the price difference, its probably cheaper to buy the black ones and touch them in with a brush.

The screws came from ebay as well.

No problem dealing with either supplier.

Sorry to dig this up but do the dome headed self tappers not sit too high on the skirt?

I have only used these on the RS option skirts, where all the rivets are hidden or only visible from underneath. Not Sure on the Cossie skirts.

Ok cool. I'll be down in Ford during the week so i'll get some prices then. Thanks for the help

Last question for you guys, on the front section that attaches to the wing theres 2 rivets that hold the leading edge. but what way does it secure to the face of the wing? it looks like it slides down on to a clip of some type?
