Old skool escort estate Question!!!!!
Aright so ive done it i gone and got myself a 1977 mk2 escort estate, its been partly restored buy the previous keepers and now im going to finish it!!!
The main question i want to know is what parts are needed to fit a MK1 front end onto a MK2??
i spoke to some one ages ago at escortec and he said you can do it but you have to make some changes ie:
front panel
bonnet
wings
wing rails
But im unsure what else i cant for the life of me remember. If anyone know please let me know as i would like to crack on

hello mate, mk1 front ends are totaly different altogether, the inner wings are all different to a mk2, so if some one just saying change the wing rails etc, there no way it can be done, mk1 inner wing tops slop down from the struts, then the mk1 wings are wide then mk2, mk1 wing bands are closer to the strut top holes...
just keep it mk2
just keep it mk2
I know that m2 escort estates are the same as mk1 estates from the windscreen pillars back and the mk2 estate is the same width as the mk1 escort which isn"t as wide as a mk2 saloon as for front wings and front pannel i don"t know i do have a ford manual with the exploded pannels picture i will hunt it out and have a look.Hope that helps..
mk2 escorts are more rare, but i have one myself so am going to say that, the inner wings on a mk2 estate are the same as a mk1 so is the bulkhead etc
i think you could just cgange the wings, bonnet, and front panel to make it mk1,
i looked into this as i couldnt find any mk2 wings at first,
check out my build thread, quite a few pics of mine on it https://passionford.com/forum/restor...rbo-zvh-7.html

I think you see less MKII Estates about than MKI's myself.
Think you can spend your money on the Estate in better ways myself, as they're just money pits anyway
