These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon. The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these. Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A. no more air valves...
B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
C. no more repair kits...
D. no more flats...

I think id rather stick with conventional tyres and risk leaky valves , repairs ,flats and punctures

 

I think they look cool

But i bet they'd be god dam expensive to replace !!!!

I've seen these tyres before about 2 years ago. They've been in development for a while now. They're hardly the prettiest of things, but a very interesting alternative to conventional tyres. I really can't see them being able to produce a decent low profile version to compete against conventional tyres.

 

regarding the last picture, it's all very well Michelin developing these new tyres but if the car manufacturers don't go for it then it's a waste of time as they won't fit any cars. Also they're fucking ugly.

 

It's definatley thinking outside the box though
if you keep doing the same things you'll keep getting the same results
