Default New Daily Motor......?

Hi all, Im lookin for a new daily motor, ive currently got a 54 c220 merc, its alright, but I worry everytime it goes wrong and it now looks like its gonna be a big bill now because of a starting problem, and its not even very good on diesel....so just sort of looking to change it.....im only 20 so insurance is a big factor and i do a 40 mile a day commute, but im bored of the costs of diesel repairs dpfs, egr, dmfs and all that shit...so a petrol isnt out of the question....
I can get insured at a reasonable price on a mk1 focus rs and civic type r but theyre not exactly good on fuel! i dont want anything more than £7k, italian or french!
Wondering if anyone had any ideas!? Cheers, Neil

You'd get a stonking Golf GT TDi for that money, with change. I don't think you'd get a MK5 GT TDi, but could be wrong. Sling a remap on them and while they're not as fast as most people make out, they're still punchy as hell and return good MPG.

Alternatively, sell everything you've got, buy the FRS you really want and get a cheap smoker to rip around in to work/leave in town etc.

Cheers,
Grant

Ive grown a big fan of the mk1 leon cupra R but i think the interiors are basic and just dont have the same image as an equivalent audi or vw, still a cheap car and i think the mk2s are much uglier than the previous model
I love the new civics, and ive been in one and they do go very well, ill look a bit more into it. Cheers!
