as above my rev counter sits at 4k on tickover and my fuel guage doesnt work i changed the clocks and its still the same
does anyone no what could be the problem
my car is a 1.6 pinto mk1 sierra

 

Could be two different problems, the fuel gauge could be either a sender problem or a power problem.

Rev counter could be a problem with the wire to the coil which is the signal wire.

I assume you changed the whole instrument cluster not just the instruments themselves?

cheers martin what colour is the wire that goes to the coil yes i changed the full instrument cluster

were the gauges working before?

non rev counter clocks dont just swop over thats all

 

not sure just bought the car and its been doing this since i got it

 

probebly got the wrong clocks in then matey, wiring at the plugs are in different places, can be changed but needs traced or use a wiring diagram
