anyone know much about them?? i know gravett used a red/yellow saph and middlehurst had a n/a 3door in the 91 season but what engiens did they use?? how come they werent that competitive??

 

turbo's were banned so they had to go n asp as we all know the yb was designed to be turbo charged from the outset so it just couldnt compete with the more modern all alloy 2.0 stuff
IIRC gravett's car even had the gearbox in the back to try and distibute the weight better

the yba was na.
mr cosworth was very sure in the fact he could give the required 100bhp / liter with out the complication of a turbo. but ford wanted a turbo to keep up with the hype.

 

although, that was obv in 1984-5 ish,

so a 'modern' twink from the 90s would have been far more advanced ( and lighter than a boat ancor yb)
