Default mk 4 xr3i

Can anyone help me please, I've just bought a 3i on a G plate and the ad on ebay said it needed a clutch ratchet as when it gets warm, it is tough to get into gears. i got a price and bid accordingly, however, when i picked the car up the sellers partner is convinced its really the clutch! bit annoyed as its got a few bits wrong that weren't in the advert and i sold a perfectly good car to fund this one!!! feel a bit ripped off! i'm not a mechanic and really need expert advice as i cannot afford to be doing expensive repairs at the minute.

The ratchets are pretty common, but wouldn't think getting warm would affect it... Good luck with it!!

Clutch on these is no biggie mate. If the rest of the car is good and rot free, stick it out and sort the gremlins.

Get some pics up, I'm rather partial to a nice XR

its a 90 spec efi. all original but i have some 15'' wheels from a 2000 plate escort finesse (similar to the brooklands capri wheel) to go on it which is just my preference, i won't spoil it any where else though.
