Default looking for a everyday car

I'm looking for a everyday car and I'm proper confuesed about what to buy. My last car was a St200 and loved it. Insurance isnt an issue really. looking to spend upto Ł3500 which should get me a half decent motor I hope. I've looked at everything Vectra c gsi n 150 cdti,3.0 cdti vecs, st220s, st170, is200s, 330i, 325s, saabs, volvo s60 t5s, you name it im considering it. I know im looking at something about 10-12years old just dont want it to cost a bomb in repair bills. So what would you guys go for?

Erm single no bird no life no kids and no dog lol yeah want decent performance, mpg no lower than lower 20s late teens. don't do many miles mostly town driving. I'm not really to bothered if its a 2 seater or coupe. Been looking alot at e46 coupes.

Mazda 3 or 6 mps. 3 shares the cmax platform and handles extremely well, 6 is awd and shares the mondeo platform i belive.
We have a 2.0 3 and cannot fault it. Would of had the 2.3t mps but they can't tow anything.
Never had any issues with ours at all. And were not good on servicing ect.

Get a decent E39 530i M-Sport for that money, not terrible on juice, nippy enough, look good and are willing to play if you turn the traction control right off.

Cheers,

Having owned one then an E46 330CI M Sport. Dunno if you will get a good one for Ł3.5k though.
Could try an A4 quattro with the 1.8T engine which can get decent power with remaps etc.

About 5 years ago I went from an ST24 to the last of the classic shape Impreza turbo. Hardly noticed any difference in running costs and the impreza was in a different league. Ł3500k should get you a mint one thats not been messed with, just depends if the image puts you off!!

I'm looking at getting a Saab 9-3. You can get a 2005-6 2.0t Aero (210bhp) for that money. I have no experience of them them though. They look good and performance seems adequate to me.
