whats the best wat to shield boost pipes from radiant heat?
my new boost pipes run around my exhaust manifold and turbo and i want to shield them from as much raidan heat as poss, whats the best way to do this?

i dont think exhaust heat wrap would be the best way plus id rather not do that anyway.

can i just stick some self adhesive heat reflective matt to it?

the manifold is ceramic coated and i will be heatwrapping it and getting a turbo jacket later but can i do this for now?

 

I would think both of the above would be rubbish.

Heat wrap as horrible as the stuff is, would be the most effective. Either that, or shield the pipes as best as possible with a proper insulated heat shield. When driving try and make provision for airflow through the engine bay so heat isnt an issue. What stationary, not much you can do unless you're going to have fans running to keep heat at bay

 

I always thought as the air is passing through the pipe at such high velocity it didn't get chance to heat up?, maybe a degree or too at full chat.

it would make very little difference. But if it's easy to shield it, it can only be a good thing

 

wrap the pipes that run over big heat sources.
even a couple of degrees temperature drop will help up the revs, even if there isn't huge air flow.
