focus rs
is anyone else finding it hard to find a focus rs. i went to see one to day the owner described it as mint with 60k on the clock it was priced at 8995 i thought must be one of the better ones how wrong was i every panel was marked in some way rust on rear arches broken front bumper etc this is the 4Th one i have seen and sick lol just glad it was on my door step and not miles away
I remember travelling over 200miles to go and see a car that was describes "As New".
Before I'd even looked at it my Good lady said "Lets go it been in a crash" !!!!!!
I looked and one of the back wheel was at an obvious "angle".
What P***ed me off was I asked the condition due to the distance I was travelling - the owner said I would buy as soon as I saw it.
He'd owned it from new and "knew" he'd shunted it at some point - what a Cock some people can be.
Good Luck with your next viewing.

i drove from the nec to portsmouth to see an immaculate s1, got there and it was outside, said to kid weres the immaculate one, like youmate, everypanel, painted or rusty,

think i will hold off and hope to find a good low millage one. the problem with them being blue is every mark sticks out like a sore thumb. i know they are old cars now but the ones i have seen remind me off rough rs turbos

There's plenty of rough ones but look hard and have patience and one will turn up...Paint work is shocking for marks... If no rust a good rotary polish will make one look worlds apart like mine.
they look amazing after a polish, and dont be afraid to look at high milers, mines done 110k now and drives really well
Don't know if it's just me but that word 'mint' in adverts really puts me off. Mint means exactly that, mint, unblemished, perfect. I've yet to see a used car that is truely mint.
The cars I've looked at that have been described as 'mint' have usually been the worst condition. I've been to many cars in the west midlands where the seller has informed me "the car is mint init mate". Or does mint mean rust and poor paint jobs in the modern street dictionary?

They're getting older now and the more years on british roads they spend, the more it will take its toll on them!! Plus since they've gotten cheaper, a 'certain' type of person has gotten hold of them and started to skimp on maintenance and parts used to look after it.
It really all depends, if I went to see one that was only average paintwork-wise with ok miles, solid underneath and shitloads of history.. then I'd haggle hard because of the paintwork and probably still go ahead with it.
Mainly because when Sticky was talking about respraying his, I really liked the idea of doing it another colour apart from the standard blue.. and Black or Jewel Violet would be fantastic I think.
Cheers,
Grant

The one I had for sale the other week everybody was put of it having 93k on the clock as people say above don't be out of by mileage as that on was immaculate , not 1 dent , not 1 single bit of rust and I sold it for 6k
Focus rs,s are hard to find good ones of as the rust everywhere and stonechip everywhere
It's a buyers market just now and specially with them being all the same colour etc there not the easiest to sell so you'll be able to offend somebody for one
Good luck on your search anyway

i think Matts is a exception being so low miles one owner but you cant gudge a car by its price and thinks it good or bad . it is how honest the owner is with the advert and the way its been looked after

Bang on mate... I fell lucky with mine... I was actually on my way to buy a brand new Volvo C30... And saw this in the forecourt So popped in had a look and thought @ 10.250 it's was a bargain... So I enquired and we struck a deal at 9k cash... Never did get the C30 I wanted... Another rs again....
Theres a guy near me with a 52 plate, one of the very first ones, he ordered it. Last time i heard it as less than 3k miles on the clock, never see it out of the garage to be honest.
I wanted it Space Grey in the end, but it's going back blue for quickness.
One forsale on RSOC for 5k, with 128k on the clock, one owner from new. Alot of people have commented how nice the car is and puts alot of cars with half the miles to shame
Cheers,
Grant
cracking cars though
BMW Grey would have been pretty cool too. But to do it another colour would take longer and require quite a bit of extra work to do properly so I understand why you'd go Blue again.... although I'm not convinced you've not just thrown us a curve ball and it's going to turn up a different colour!!
