2wd to 4wd plenum
Yes, deffo a big difference. My recent engine build, I just got the 4x4 cover and just bolted it to the 2WD plenum as its the same. Its bigger and flows better than the 2WD.
You're better off just getting a 4x4 fuel rail and moding the end to accept the 2WD regulator, or you could chop the mounting lug off the old 2WD cover, weld it to the 4x4 one and still use the 2WD fuel rail. But its more hassle.

2WD fuel rail on a 4x4 plenum
IIRC 1 one of the bolts goes in an I had to make a small bracket to get the other to bolt to the cover.
P.S the elbow design is better on the 4x4

As already stated above the 4x4 inlet is much better than the 2 piece chamber and throttle body elbow restriction that the 2wd set up the 4x4 unit flows much smoother and more freely.
I swapped over to 4x4 set up by my engine builder and it is indeed better.

I have recently purchased a Sierra and being in Australia am finding it difficult to get up to speed on these things. I have done a search but seems to be a bit of ambiguity in the info I read.
Visually is there a way I can tell whether my car has a 2wd or 4wd inlet? Car has had some money spent on it and spec is a little of a mystery to me.

Thanks for the clarification. So from my research it seems a worthwile upgrade...my thing is running an SCS T38, and about 420hp.
Seem people run the std throttle body with them...are there any other throttle bodies that have nicer return springs and dont feel so clunky under foot. Seems to have some bind in it and told that normal for the setup?

4x4 top, 2wd bottom.

Connector on normal 4x4 rail - its different to the 2wd clip on thing.

You could use the 4x4 reg, but as far as i know they are NLA so if it goes you'll have a hunt to try and find a used one

ive got a modded 2wd one on my saff.. although ill probably go for a hart style one in the future even if its just to make the bay look nicer...

was copied from the jenspeed style ones.. much larger inside now

no mate.. just what ever was showing on the gauge which reads from the take off on the plenum.. only did it as i thought it would be cheaper than buying another cover but ended up working out more expensive but heyho..
i cant say i noticed anything really i was running an off the shelf chip on t34 at the time.. its since been mapped twice on gt3076 and made good power so must be ok .. i had the face of it skimmed after as was no longer flat after the welding .. the only reason id like the hart one is because it looks good really..
