Default RS500 restoration

A friend of mine over here in Belgium is restoring a genuine RS500 in white. It is one of the 4 Ford prototypes.

Now he wants to know how you remove the thermostat from the housing as it seems to be "pushed" in there and not with a gasket like on my Esc Cos. Anybody got any ideas???

the thermo' is held by a aliminium ring. Mine was a push tight fit, an internal clamp to the ring would pull it out.

may have a pic some where, if you need it

Cheers
