needle scalers are alright if the undersealer is brittle, if it'd soft then it won't work too well.
twisted wire cup in the grinder will do a better job.

Full face shield required for any grinder equipment. Anything else is just crazy

also worth spraying petrol on the underseal as it melts it slightly and helps to remove it

did some body say grinders
i use the twisted wire wheels they are great for ripping stone guard & sealer off with out damage .
as for face shields i use this full closed eye protection with facial guard as well ,the best set up in my opinion .

Looks good, I take it that isolates breathing from the eyes then, so they dont steam up ?

Is the best way a wire brush an grinder, or a heat gun an a scraper to get the worst off first? As you can tell, I've never done an underside resto!?

Never used a heat gun, but the wire knot wheel in a grinder is very effective, but take the safety mentioned very seriously.

It will be slow and time consuming, and of course very messy.

I can't really think of any easy and clean methods. Unless there are some serious chemical type strippers out there.
