i wouldn't. it won't hurt anything, but i love air con. once you've had it, you can't go back to not having it.

if you do take it off, be careful ndoing any joints. let the gas out of one of the service ports (like tyre valves) slowly first (actually you should have the gas proffesionally recovered as it is a CFC and contributes to global warming, but it came out in crash right?). this gas is under pressure and can freeze you when you let it out. wear hand and eye protection.

Alright guys, I am looking for a 4 x 4 with aircon. Does aircon really slow you down then? Whats the benefits or removal?

Air conned Saph is QUITE rare. I'd sell the car and buy one of the thousands that didn't come with it. Otherwise, upgrade the IC with a modified Escy Cos one with built-in chargecooler in order to keep the air con. But it's your car at the end of the day.

I wish my 3dr Cos came with air con, as I live in Dallas, and it will be cacooned during the hot months

of course, and yes of course it slows you down. you don't get something for nothing in this life. it needs an absolute maximum of 10 bhp in very extreme conditions.
