Default 3door air con with l6

Right after seeing martin put air con on his rs500 I thought I want a bit of that for my 3door. So I have near enough everything air con wise to retro fit it into my car.
Saying that I'm still after the bracket for the engine.
I need to know how to wire it up. So any wiring diagrams would be a great help.
Also is the l6 Ecu compatible, as in can I link it in to speed up the idle like an l8 does
Cheers Luke

I don't think so tbh, so far as I know L8/P8 has the A/C input but seem to remember thats for the clutch disengagement @ WOT, although maybe ECU may increase the revs as well?

That said, overseas models sometimes have A/C, so if this applies to 3 Door/2WD Saph then they must have done it somehow

My RS500 has had dealer fit aircon from new, it uses an actuator fitted on the throttle bracket to raise the revs when required, rather than any input from the ecu, that could be an option for you if you want to retain the l6

Surely the ecu just sees a drop in rpm at idle and opens the ISCV to compensate? Unless I am misunderstanding what has been said above.
I can see the sense in clutch disengagement at WOT, but this could be done with a switch on the pedal or throttle body linkage.

Ahhhh I get why your saying. I suppose it would be the same for a big electrical load like the fans kicking in . The idle would drop with the load on the alternator then bring it's self back up.
So does the disengagement of the clutch only happen at WOT. (why is this? To kill the load on the engine at full throttle?

Yeah I've got the panel for the bulkhead. Got it out a granada at the breakers . There exactly the same as the sierra ones. It's White too... bonus

Its a good mod to have done on a road going Cossie - have got the rad/Intercooler for it too? Will u still have space for a big rs500 style Intercooler after all the gubbins are on?

Yeah I've tidied up all the interior and trying to make it a nice place to be . Will be a Bice touch once it's done and won't sweat my tits off in the middle of the summer driving to shows. My plan is to try and fit it between the rad and IC just like Martin has done. But I would like to try and find a long and narrow air con rad and mount it as low down as possible but we'll see how it goes

Here is the condensor on mine, sits in front of the original 500 cooler no problem and still belts out loads of icy cold air even on a very hot day and the fans dont cut in much more either.

you need to find a granada with air con, much easier to locate than a sierra and then simply swap over the bulkhead panel inside the car and the air con box in the engine bay

the wiring and stuff you can get sorted and the pump and rad and pipework you can have made up from other sources
