To be fair hes not that good,i dont think he did that well when he tryed to compete in the wrc,anybody can make a video and edit it untill its all perfect

 

Definately one of the best ever "demo" drivers.

Pretty good in WRC too, although will never be Loeb.

Midfield amongst one of the strongest sets of rally drivers the world has ever seen, so much talent out there right now.

I dont think that is true, I think some people just have more talent than others at certain things, and he clearly has a lot of driving talent, his car control is unreal.

If you applied that logic, you would assume that every person could do everything anyone else does, and thats clearly not the case.

I dont beleive that with the same practice I could be as good at driving as him, or as good at kicking an old bit of leather about as wayne rooney either for example, or as good at physics as albert einstien, they were all born with particular extremes of gifts for certain attributes that I and most others werent.

 

i agree totally , just look at the skid marks etc or is that how many takes it took to get it right

 

TBH the skid marks are surprisingly consistant, looks more like it was shot mutliple times to get all the camera angles right etc than cause he was practicing, otherwise there would be random sets going off where he span out etc, and there dont seem to be many of those in any of his videos.

Im sure it takes more than one attempt, but it takes him a fucksight less than it would the rest of us I suspect!

I think some people are wrong.
Ken Block is unbelievable behind the wheel to do even half that stuff, at half that speed..

But the current WRC drivers are just beyond belief.

Very much agree.

People love to slag him off, presumably because of jealousy, when he's clearly a very talented driver. Just to finish midfield in WRC takes exceptional skill.

how can you say that? midfield WRC is not shit , he's not a WRc champion, but he certainly aint shit, i dont know how many other drivers have done as well as him in his rookie season, cant be many.

I saw an interview with him where he said its a dream come true to be in WRC and that he is hoping to get into top 5 finishes reguarly within a few years. He says that he knows he will never challenge Loeb at the front though.

If I managed what he has set out to do (ie be 5th or so in WRC) I would think I'd done really fucking well, and he seems to be on course to do so considering he's relatively near that pace with so little experience of WRC so far.
He's not used to driving places he doesnt know, I reckon his car control is a match for Loeb or anyone else, but his ability to predict a rally stage isnt, thats goign to get better with experience.

I've been out with a pro rally driver (higgins) on a gravel stage, and to say it was eye opening is a slight understatement!
