It's safe to say there was a little friendly rivalry going on there.

Got a small bit of vid of the two of them tearing past the pit lane with not so much as a gnats cock in it

From where we were standing they looked pretty rapid

Flew about 30ft in the air just missing us.

I know Cliff S1 did about 120 miles on track yesterday so if it was about 3 miles per lap then thats about 40 laps

You were spanking the arse of your Cossie all day Dave

Looked awesome

Bloke in the blue/silver Impreza was giving it beans all day as well. Followed him for a lap and every bend we got to was an oppertunity for some opposite lock

Was nice to see an array of metal. A Ferrari through to Scoobs, an Exige, a couple of Elises (one with a Honda Civic Type R engine in it).

Ł80

Sorry about the grief you had Dan S. You anhilated that bunny though Bits of it were all over the back straight. Car looked quick out there.

I racked up about 100 miles for the day and surprisingly despite spanking the old girl she returned pretty good economy (got to keep those tree huggers happy ).

Found one casualty from the day. Appears I broke the brake light switch as when I pulled onto my driveway the brakelights were stuck on.

And I would like to confirm the patented SCC Performance lawn mower attachment for RS Turbo's was very thoroughly tested.

didnt see steves going round, what with only being able to go out for a few laps in the morning due to my water temp issues ( which turnt out to be a stuck shut stat )
but robs car looked to be going round well when i was behind him

manged a few sessions in the afernoon which i was quite pleased with, the cars handling seemed quite good, for what basically is a 16yr old car with standard'ish suspension.

a big thanks to lee ( porkie ) for showing round the track. and learning to use all the track, even though im used to using karts on track when your in a car on the road your so used to using one lane its a little harder to use the track to its full.i got there in the end mate .i promise i calmed down a bit with my throttle, well a little anyway

Was Ł80 for as many laps as you like.

Not sure how many i done but i had a full tank to start with and put in another Ł80 of petrol on site.

Well spent though.

Dan, sorry about your bumper,

that thing you hit was everywhere, on the fastest part too.

He certainly was, it was a WR1 scooby, a limited edition one, worth about Ł28k iirc.

Was giving it plenty,

Dave.

Was a wicked sight coming through Bedford. All the RS's.

As we drove past a group of lads on the way to Shefford, the just stopped what they were doing and stared at the 2 caged RS Turbo's rumbling past. And as much as it may surprise the people that know me I drove back at a steady 50-60mph. After razzing the car all day I was more than content to chill and take it easy on the way home

Yup that was me only took 30mins for the bloke to show up which I was impressed with.

God knows what happened to the turbo, its completely seized. I've only had about 5k miles / 6 months usage out of it

Robs car definatly had the upper hand running on slicks...... but I was amazed at just how good both cars were considering they are both on std shox and just lowered springs.... the main bit is having strut braces and roll cages in them both they stiffened the chasis up a massive amount

Was Robs Fiesta on slicks then ???

I did about 100 miles on track so defo got moneys worth.

Managed to pass a few Cossies as they were all over the track into and out of the corners Passed a silver Scooby estate too and that was 4wd

The RST ran well right upto the wheel bearing/hub problem

Pop's glad yours was just the thermostat, i was worried it would be a headgasket.

Alex I was gutted for ya. I was saying to Tony few days before that a clutch ratchet was the most likely part to snap on mine and would end the day for us if it did. Then yours goes and what a pain to change Cheers for the "loan" of your garage and sorry couldnt take you for some passenger laps, i owe you a Beer for the garage m8

No worries mate, thought you were doing VERY well for someone who had never been there before Your car control is superb!

Glad you realised that its a throttle and not an on/off switch!

Why didn't you come out with me though??? no-one apart from uffy even asked me I had to pull over and shout at Oranoco if he wanted a ride!

Tiff

the focus is only "90 bhp" thats it , bog standard car with out any mods only the slicks .....slicks are worth a good 80bhp in the corners

Dave

yes was was watching in your mirror but how long did it take you to pass me ?? , you had no chance in the bends come on "SIR"be honest the focus was well cool in the bends only because of the slicks ....we did have a good battle coming to the second corner before the pit striaght where you went wide the on to the grass

i thought you lost your bumper at one point Martin Johnston was in car with me at the time so he can be my withness at the end of the day it's a good laugh to be out there on track and being part of it and i am there to make the numbers up only and to enjoy myself

Marco

The best bit Marco is you drove it there, thrashed around the track all day and drove home afterwards..... Just like me in the Fiesta.... didn't even have to top up any fluids all day (apart from Petrol 1 1/2 tanks )
