Iv been thinking about selling my xr2i to buy a rs2000 4x4, iv only had xr for 2 mths and love it. Just done and oil and coolant change today. Only done 31k from new!

Just feel need for rs2000 4x4. Any thing to look out for ? What are they like in snow?
And anyone hav an idea how much i should ask for, for my xr? Only a little rust under windscreen thats it.

Any help would be great.

pop over and see me matt, they are brilliant in the snow as I had right laugh at people getting stuck in the snow and ice when I breezed past

transfer box and suspension are all mega money, aprt from that they are like any other mk6 escort for wear and tear but they drive brilliant like the xr4x4s

 

Ill have to hav a look at urs steve. Need to see about room inside for kid seat etc too.

 

way more room inside than a fez, I have 3 kids 18/15/11 and they fit in the back, feel free to pop over and take a look that way you will know if this type of car is right for you

 

i could be wrong but i reckon that in say 3-5yrs time the xr2i will start going up and holding value very well. At present maybe worth 1200-1500. always been a mk2 xr2 fan but have started to have a soft spot for the 2i

 

im with the above there no more of them on the road a standard minty minter will be desirable , the rs1800 dropped like flys cheap as chips watch em they will be worth something in say 7 years

 

Wonder how many xr2i's are left, didn't even see a over amount at fitp this year.

 

I'm sure 4x4 RS2000 values will be stronger than XR2i values. The badge is on their side.

Would be the Escort for me; nicer interior, more space, better engine, better chassis, it's a no brainer IMO.

 

find a rs before getting excited, ive not seen any good cars for sale for years and the few ive seen for mega money while they are good there are not daily useable

find the rs mothball the xr and be happy

 

didnt hardly see any cars at FITP ,it was dead this year with no public & next to no traders, NO entertainment apart from some stig in a robin reliant

 

rs2k very rare car these days so as nice an xr2i is at the moment the escort is already rarer.

 

Getting rarer every day which is why prices are rising,mine has insurance agreed value of £4k
