Default more BHP in escort?

my car is running at approx 180bhp is there anything i can do to make it quicker? i have bought a -31 acuater and a few little bits. does chipping the ECU actually work? what sort of exhaust should i have? as you can tell this is my first RS! lol

i take it its a rs turbo you have if so best person to talk to is karl aka nms

tell him what you want and he will deliver the goods

and yes a chipped ecu will make it a different car

If its an rst it will already be chipped as the chip only removes the boost limit.

For 180 bhp your car is already chipped.

First off I would have a health check to make sure everything is fine then from there make sure the brakes and suspension are up to more power. From there you will be needing a larger intercooler (not a double capacity Pace as these are next to bloody useless) and some careful setting up 17psi should see you make 200bhp bu the turbo itself will be getting pushed

as been said already if your car is running approx 180bhp then its already been chipped.

very good advice above though make sure all the basics are spot on i did this with my 5gtt when i bought it a couple of years ago, then go from there id look at uprating your turbo and intercooler plus get a 285 cam then go for a live map, your best off with a ford specialist but i know of one place near to me who specialise in all fuel injection tuning

just make sure you dont take it to alan jefferys or ap in plymouth shower of shit. woodford motorsport are very good with rs turbos
