Best one I've had was a Diahatsu Charade, was a 1.0 3cyl model... I got it when my first Subaru shat it's engine and was in getting a replacement at the dealer. The 'Zaibatsu' (named after something on GTA ) got fucking death everywhere, seats had zero support so if you attacked a roundabout/bend then you could actually end up heading towards your passenger seat at speed and hanging onto the steering wheel for dear life.

I also got a brand new Corsa 1.2 when I was getting a car repaired at a bodyshop... decided to take it out that evening to give it a rip (as you do with hire/courtesy cars) and picked up MarkB.

We were motoring down the road, quickly approaching a corner that I was planning to apex beautifully........... however MarkB decided that we weren't going to make the corner, so from the passenger seat, ripped up the handbrake and send us sideways over a traffic island. 15ft in the air, written off Corsa with a couple of hundred miles on it, an angry bodyshop manager. Game over, no replacement courtesy car for Grant.

Cheers,
Grant

Dad had a 1.0 Pug 107 Automatic as a c car a few months ago. It was crap. He was coming from a Mondeo ST TDCi and a long daily drive on A, B & motorway roads in a hilly area.

The Ford garage where I go currently has a fleet of year old Fiesta's, probally 1.2.

No it was the garage I bought my current car from, went back in for them to do a few bit that needed doing to it and they gave me that piece of shit. They deal in sports and prestige cars so was rather shocked at it to be honest!

not the CDTi one is it?? TERRIBLE heap of shit

I had one as a hire car, it had 19"s on it. It and looked (and handled) like a rollerskate. not good at all.
Terrible chassis, terrible engine.
try and pull out of a junction, it would either bog down, or just try and wheelspin, nothing inbetween.
understeer like ive never experienced in anything (including my work vans LOL )

i expect the VXR ones are truely terrifying

I had a KA which mysteriously blew up they gave me another KA, with the same reg as the old one except the last letter was different, and i took a humpback bridge at 3 figure speeds and took out, landed, grounded out, smashed the sump, fishtailed, caught grip and rolled 3 or 4 times, looked like a triangle and i couldnt get out was trapped by my legs upside down for about 30 mins till someone came and all i could smell was petrol

I haven't had a courtesy car for years, but had a Proton for a few days when my ST24 went in for some work, was bloody horrible. WHen I had my 1st RS Turbo, gearbox went bang after a few weeks, I had a P reg Mondeo Ghia X V6 off the forecourt, went well enough but managed to hit a dog on the A14 and done a fair bit of damage, smashed front bumper, washer bottle, scuffed all 4 wheels....
ANd when I had my Orion I had a load of grief getting some work done under warrenty, ended up getting Ford HQ involved, and when they finally took the car in for some work I had the use of the Sales Managers Escort, that saw some abuse that day....

Finally, a garage I used to work at had a Perodua Nippa for a courtesy car, proper bargain basement, but went well.

i remember years ago when my mums car broke, she got the old square shape metro as a courtesy car. Back then, it was a bucket of shit, but now looking back and because im old enough, id love to cain the fuck out of it cant wait till i get to drive my first courtesy car! although itd involve my car breaking

but yeah, the fastest cars are either rental cars or courtesy cars
